My Blog Killer

I do not own or claim rights to this image.

 Instagram has killed my blogging.

I heard this from several people this past weekend and realised just how true it was!

I love instagram. It's fun, inspirational, quick and so easy to use. I think that's exactly where the problem is. Blogging is not as easy as one may think. There is a lot of editing, writing, uploading, photo editing etc etc. But with something like instagram, its just so much easier to share your life! Snap a photo, do a quick edit, write a caption and done. Not to mention that following people and sharing things is just one click of a button.

Scrolling through photos, and putting most of the ones you take on instagram definitely makes for a lazy blogger in my opinion. It's really easy to become sort of creatively drained after viewing all those photos and ideas. Also, it's easy to take the moments you may have to blog, and spend them on instagram instead.

I have no idea why it took others saying it to clue me in, but i'm glad I saw it. I'm going to try to really be aware of it, spend less time on instagram, and the majority of those free moments here on the blog. Because honestly, I'd rather post a picture with a caption or small blurb here and keep this space active.

What do you think? If you're a blogger, do you find instagram kills your buzz a bit?

July-stagram

It's that time again. How has summer passed so quickly? Time to share my top 30 instagram pics with ya. You can see the round-up of June here.

I didn't have time to round up 30 pictures, plus my top three favorites this time, but I will still share the ones I like best (sorry for the repeats).

First place: This picture of Mackynzie holding an unimpressed Fynn. This is what they do every. Single. Day. I kid you not. for at least a couple hours in the day, they run around; him running away, her chasing, him reluctantly being held, him escaping, repeat.

Second place: A squinty family picture in front of a fire truck. I didn't realize how rare it is to get all three of us in one frame, without a cell-phone-in-the-mirror picture. Looks like I have a new mission.

Third place: Was going to go to that super cute photo of Mackynzie grinning at the end, but I decided on this one of us on our usual morning walk. Its a good representation of a typical weekday morning at our house.

I am already snapping away for August. If you want to see them as they come (and the other pics), you can follow me on instagram at Rainbow Miller (just hit the follow button and I will approve your request ;) ).

June-stagram!

I had no idea about instagram until a couple of months ago. I finally got filled in and well, i'm hooked. If you follow me there, you know I share lots of pictures. I think it's a lot of fun and it gives me a place to put all the pictures I take (that are not nice enough/too random to do anything with). Family and friends who don't have instagram don't get to see these pictures though. So I thought it would be fun to do a monthly round-up (Once again I am late to the party since it's July.. ) of photos since I shared over 80! Here are my top 30:

These two are technically one photo each since that's how it is on instagram.

I decided I wanted to pick my top three favorites. It was tough, but these guys won out in the long run.

This one of Cody and Mackynzie reading nailed first place hands down. I love this picture and I think it captures the relationship they have wonderfully.

Second goes to our date night. We have a lot of fun together and smarties and jenga is our idea of a good time!

Third place goes to this random picture of a Saturday morning. I love how it shows a little glimpse of our life before everyone rolls out of bed.

If you would like to keep up with me on instagram, you can find me under Rainbow Miller :)
